Since we've been home

Some of you have been waiting for this!!! We have been home since May 19th. The total trip home took about 24 hours and little Ricky did awesome. As soon as we landed in Chicago, our little man was officially an American Citizen!! WOO HOO!! We got to Charlotte and there were both sets of parents and a bunch of teary eyes and a sleeping baby. He woke up when we put him in his car seat for the first time...kinda rough with rookie parents...ha!

We had two DR visits - drew blood two times to check acid levels in his blood and everything turned out OK. Had shots the first visit - he was still screaming from the blood draw to tell how he reacted to this. His hip seemed to be OK and the Doc is going to mark his file to keep an eye on it.

We scheduled a circumcision and that was done Thursday - whew! He is still recoverying from that but again, he did amazing!!

We have had two birthday parties...one here at our house with Kristi's family on his actual b'day and one at my parents' house in Chesterfield VA with my family. He has done really well with all the family members and with all the people who were dying to see him at church.

Kristi and I are both at work now and her mom is with us and then my mom will be here for a couple of weeks. Then there is someone at church that may keep him during the summer and then our daycare at our church opens for him in Mid-August.

He was sleeping through the night in Kaz and got pretty close to that here but now he is ALL wacked out!!! He wakes up every hour and a half to two hours in his crib and cries out...as soon as he is in our arms he is dead asleep so we are still trying to figure this out. When we needed to rock him back to sleep we were bring him back out to the living room in the rocker and getting him to sleep and putting him back in the crib. Now, we are in the habit, the lazy habit, of getting him and putting him in the bed and then putting him back in the crib after quite sometime. Then his surgery happened and we have coddled him and I think we have created a monster with this rocking, getting into the bed, etc. that is causing him to wake up every so often and realizing he is not right next to us or in our bed and he cries out. I hope this ends soon!!!!

He is starting to crawl using his tip toes instead of his knees and his legs are getting really strong. He is walking assisted with our fingers and he loves his exersaucer and bouncy seat. Bath time is a wonderful time and after he is done a bottle, he does not like being in the cradle position, he likes to be on your chest with his head on your shoulder - such a sweet feeling that way!!!

Here are some pics since we have been home.
