The creeping croup takes over...

We have had a rough week!! Ricky spent his first sunday in the nursery this weekend and they said he did a great job considering it was his first time in there. Luckily, our friend that has been keeping him was at church with him the past two weeks at a camp and the room he was in on sunday was the room he was familiar with from the camp.
He woke up in the middle of the night between sunday and monday with a temperature and we took him to the doctor on Monday and they said he had a little viral thing going on to keep him on the Little Nose Saline and Tylenol. That didn't work...he got worse. We are both getting close to being out of time for work b/c of the adoption, so after work on Monday, I drove half way to Bristol to pick up Kristi's Mom so she could help us out. On Tuesday, Kristi was back at the doctor with him and they said he had a severe case of the croup! They gave him a breathing treatment at the doctor's office, gave us a nebulizer and told us to go get some saline solution especially for nebulizers. Kristi went around to 7 or 8 places and no one keeps the stuff in stock, so we used Little Nose as our saline solution. Boy does he hate that little mask!! He has been so pitiful the past two days. He wants down out of your arms and walks or crawls around just for a few minutes and then he is back at your feet climbing up your legs and then stretching his arms out to be held - this just started with the sickness. He is definitely "hugging" and clinging now...he used to be just dead weight in my arms, now he has got a grip on my neck and isn't letting go and when he gets excited, he reaches both arms around and buries his face into my neck and giggles and it is the closest thing to a hug and it is the BEST feeling!! He seemed to play a little more tonight. He crawled around without going right back to Kristi, Mimi, or I and started playing again on his own. While we were having conversation after dinner, we put him in his bouncy chair (hangs on the door jam) and he had a blast - first time in three days that he has really laughed.
Development wise, he is doing an actual crawl now on his hands and knees, still reverts back to the soldier crawl every-now-and-then. He uses our fingers as support, but very little, he is walking ALL around if you are willing to walk ALL around with him. Sometimes he likes being in his walker and sometimes he doesn't and just wants to GO. Nefi is starting to come around and wants to play with him...he doesn't have much to do with her though. She is dropping her balls at his feet or in his lap for him to play ball with her and of course, he keeps it and tries to put it in his mouth - drives Mimi crazy (Kristi and I usually just let him do it - ha!). He is pulling himself up on just about everything now. When he is done crawling, he can go to a sitting position now. Still no words, but he is starting to babble a little more...it is coming...we have to stop and remember he heard Kazakh for the first 10 months of his life and now he is hearing something totally different. He has four teeth and Kristi said she saw a fifth that has finally broken through...from what the doc says, he should have another two or three more after that one.
Kristi is sick, Ricky is sick, Mimi had a small dose of it today but seems to be doing good, and I am really fighting to keep whatever away (starting to get a little congested and a tickle in my throat). We have some more pics on the camera that I haven't transfered to the computer yet.

Pray for a speedy recovery for all and that this doesn't keep cycling itself around the house.
